Joe Schad reporting BE meeting with UCF now

Turning down the Big East (especially if other CUSA teams go) would be an abject disaster. If it crumbles, then we go back to CUSA/MWC.
Some people simply forget just how bad it was...

No matter who the Big 12 invites the BIg East will still be better than CUSA.
Not without West Virginia, Louisville, and probably UConn.
With a BCS bid until 2016, I think its a substantial improvement.

Not without West Virginia, Louisville, and probably UConn. Not to mention added travel, cost to fans and students. The loss of rivalries with Rice, Tulsa, and Tulane. Money isn't everything. And the Big East without those schools will probably NOT be AQ and will not bring in any more dollars than CUSA anyway.
The teams are still better they would bring in more than CUSA without a doubt. The Big East could then pickoff whoever it wants from CUSA and MWC. It would essentially be a CUSA-Big East-MWC merger with the best teams from each. Think of it as CUSA and MWC starting over without all of the dead weight.

IF we get the invite, wonder when we would go to the BE. 2013?

That would be my guess.

Yes it would be. By a lot. You would have effectively cut loose ALL THE DEAD WEIGHT FROM CUSA. Every program in, or that wants to be in the BE, wants to win, not participate. Let Tulane, Rice, UAB, and all the rest hand out blue ribbons for "trying hard."

as soon as possible. TCU announced in the spring, right, and were set to play next year b/c the 2011 football schedule had already been made for MWC
if we could get it done now, buy out of CUSA for whatever it costs, and get on down the road.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

We wrapped those weights around us for 20 years. Times up, sink our swim.

As I mentioned in another thread ap says invites going to air force, navy, UCF and Boise. No mention of SMU uh or temple.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

be kind to those when you are going up, you will meet them again when you are going down.

But Pitt and Syracuse are locked in to 27 more months with BE, and out of the 6 teams asked who knows what everyone's contract deals are. Will prolly be pretty messy. If we get invited, I'll be excited, but I won't believe it until we are playing our first game there.

Huh? Those are just conference games - no rivalry involved in any of those. We've played Rice for 239 years and it's still not a rivalry.
