Join Big Easy regardless what Boise State and Air Force do..

Without Houston, SMU, and UCF the C-USA and MWC merger is worthless! We need to take control and force Boise State and Air Force into joining the Big East, instead of their idea of a [Gary Patterson] 22 team league merger. If it is a financial issue for those schools to leave the MWC then we could probably help the poor [Gary Patterson] out... Poor [Gary Patterson]... Sorry about putting big easy in the title, had a few too many celebrating our AQ conference invite

The answer is NO. No Boise means no to everyone except UCF.

well, the Big East isn't stupid. they are trying to apply pressure by making it conditional package deal. If Boise bales they probably make a new conditional package offer to SMU, Houston, Memphis and Temple. Yes, worst case this could fall apart, especially if Navy says no. I don't think i would be celebrating or calling this a done deal but we are in the conversation at least.

Who in the hell is the Big East going to play if Boise and AF say NO? SMU, UH and UCF are going to be necessary for the Big East to survive in both scenarios

I think a 9-team Big East is still very attractive to us!!! They can always back-fill with Temple and Memphis, ECU, Tulsa or Southern Miss.

That's what I keep saying but nobody is listening. How else are they going to survive? Take those three and work from there.

I am listening mathman....of course BE will take all of us and back-fill later....if UH, UCF and/or SMU still stay in the Top 25 into November, the BE looks like a genius and will hold onto the BCS status. These are all rising programs that give them additional credibility going forward.

9 team Big East is still good for us, unless Ucon,WVU and Louisville leave, then its 6 and essentially a slightly better CUSA once you backfill with ECU, Memphis and USM.

Definitely a nice little league but it ain't AQ and its unlikely to stay affiliated with the Big East for basketball.
