Sterling Harris

Postby Guest » Wed Feb 27, 2002 4:44 pm

Is this the year Sterling Harris becomes a good player? When he was signed a few years ago, reports indicated he was the next Forrest Gregg or Dave Richards -- reports which so far have proved grossly inaccurate. Is it a lack of mobility? Is he lazy in workouts and conditioning? Does he not have the fire in his belly to be a nasty lineman? I hope Coach Bennett's new offensive line coach can get out of Sterling what we were all led to believe was there when he signed. We sure need him to step up and play. X

Sterling is a bust, no matter who's coaching him. Time for some new blood on the offensive line - soon..

I hope this is the year for Sterling. I have not been around him lately, but he DID have a world of potential.

You guys need to lay off him, I am out there and he is a maniac at working out. He is extremely dedicated and working his [deleted] off doing a special workout every morning at 6:30.

I am sure if you were to check !! All players are completing a 06:00 - 06:30 work out ( unless they are doing other sports )
We should hope that they are ALL working out so that they can be in the best possible shape for the spring ball showing. I for one look forward to seeing how they have developed and to see the coaching staff in action.

Braginator, these special 6:30am workouts you refer to are called Mustang Reminders, a disciplinary workout mandated when a player screws up. I do agree that he is working harder but he still lacks the mindset to be a great lineman at this level.

Sterling is actually doing Musatng Reminders everyday so that he gets in better shape not b/c he has gotten in trouble as far I know. And thanks for the info SMUFinn but I am well aware of the early mornig workouts since I have been doing them for the last month.

You'll have to trust me on this one, Sterling did get into some pretty big trouble. Coach Bennett has two major pet peeves and Sterling was caught breaking one of them.

If anyone else says one more negative thing to Braginator, they will face the Roginator(me). Seriously, real cool screwing with a SMU football player. PLAY WITH FIRE... YOU GET BURNED.

Not everyone that works out at 6:30 has gotten into some kind of trouble. Some people want to get the workout done and out of the way early morning.

I would listen to JFogle...he knows what he is talking about.

Braginator, your name or a name similar seems to be missing from the roster. Either you aren't a football player or you are VERY new to the scene...in which case I will trust what I have heard from the veterans and people that know what is going on down there.

Harris is not doing Mustang Reminders for fun and leisure, nor to better himself, unless he is getting into trouble to do Mustang Reminders in order to better himself, which doesn't make too much sense now does it?

You are probably right, but if you are who I think you are at least admit that I did not embarass myself in the race today. Also, I never have claimed to be on the team, as of now I am a walk-on trying out for the team and just working to get a shot when it comes to spring ball in a few weeks.
