not sure the Mustang Nation would know how to deal with that kind of success

I wish we had a "nation". We have something more like a "province". I usually don't weigh in on our pathetic attendance but today was really disappointing. It was a beautiful day, winning team, etc. But this fan still enjoyed!

we are a very small "nation" but those who have hung with SMU through it's darkest athletic years are among the most loyal fans in college football

Yes, absolutely! We have a brutal schedule ... I was going to say: "yes, BUT at USM, Tulsa, and UH are tough but I also said at TCU and playing UCF anywhere is tough ... so now I'm going to say: "if we play like this last 4 game stretch the rest of the season, we run the table on everyone, win CUSA, win the bowl and end the year in the top 20, start next year in top 25 laying the table for a very possible top 10-15 run in 2013-2014 with Printz coming on board" ... after so many years in the wilderness this is going to be fun for us ... I very much look forward to the day when I walk into a bar anywhere in the country (I've watch SMU games so far this year in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Carpinteria, Ojai, and now Las Vegas) and when I say "I want to watch the SMU game" they don't say "who?" and then put me on the little screen in the corner but rather say "yep, it's already on the big screen!"

Count me as one my friend. I live in NY and have been down for all 3 home games. Can't get enough of this. I just wish there were more of us.

The Orlando press can be a little rough. . . .

"UCF's celebratory Big East Invitational float got three flat tires, sprung a massive oil leak and ran out of gas."

"SMU defeated its nationally ranked rival TCU two weeks ago in the "Battle of Iron Skillet" and on Saturday the Mustangs took the skillet and beat UCF's brains out with it. UCF came into the game ranked No. 1 nationally in pass defense, but SMU quarterback J.J. McDermott threw for 358 yards and made the Knights' secondary look more disorganized than a teenage girl's closet.

It's no wonder SMU coach June Jones wore a Hawaiian lei during the game. He must have thought he was on vacation and attending a luau on Waikiki Beach. Unfortunately, UCF played the role of the roasted pig with an apple in its mouth."

Now, that is quality journalism. Both entertaining and highly accurate. Considering we are where we are at this point without playing to our full potential, I think 11-1 is certainly attainable. We have some tough games ahead (UofH really worries me), but if we continue to improve we could win out the rest of the way.

Dang :!: UCF must be Orlando's hometown team if the newspapers did that.

Kate, be gentle with us if we should happen to lose to somebody.
