SMU UCF Game Attendance only 22,932

We thumped TCU two weeks ago and had beautiful weather today for a rematch of the conference championship game. Announced attendance was only 22,932. We can do better. The team, coaches and Mustang Athletics deserve better.

Looked like 22,000 of that was on the SMU side. Didn't see much black and gold in the stands.

don't expect much help from the visitors from CUSA east...or from any Big East opponents other than Houston. SMU will need to find a way to fill the seats at Ford with our own fans

Now we are blaming the opposition for not bringing many fans? Until SMU starts bringing a solid 3,000-5,000 fans to every road game, we really shouldn't be throwing that stone.

Pathetic if alleged Pony Fans left the game to watch the Rangers. Support your team! Coach Jones had to answer attendance questions after the great win. A winning coach who is creating a stellar program shouldn't have to answer why the fans don't support the team. Pitiful.

I hear you. I turned down a Rangers ticket for SMU, but no t-shirt fans in Dallas would choose Mustangs mid-season (we really haven't proved anything yet - or not much) over Rangers in the ALCS.

Next two home games should have better numbers.
Homecoming vs. Tulane
then vs. Navy (they travel well)

SMU won't bring 500 to watch any road games in CUSA east or in the Big East

look at the characters on this forum, at least half don't live anywhere near Dallas. Thats pretty typical of SMU alums. I was getting texts from alums in Chicago, New York and Boston during the game. Pat ourselves on the back though from a ratings perspective though, alot of people missing from the stands are watching tv from other cities.

TCU still struggles with attendance and they went to back to back BCS bowls. You gotta build your fan base up - it's not gonna come just because we're 5-1 all of a sudden.
