TCU smokes us in attendance but they have the same problem we do...we are small private schools with a large percentage of our alumni living elsewhere (than the DFW Metroplex). Neither of us will ever be in the same category as the larger public schools we are hoping to compete with
pretty pathetic, really sad ... but I didn't go so ... I live north of L.A. and KNOW I'll be going to the bowl game but I'm working on / hoping to get a box seat sometime soon and fly in for all the home games at least .... with the MWC merger I might be able to get to some closer away games as well ...
I also have to believe that the 2pm time slot hurt us (along with the Rangers). Either way, a 4-1 team, heading to the Big East with a lot of hype after beating it's arch-rival deserves much better. I knew we wouldn't get close to selling out, but 23k? Looked more like 10K from the tv. I'm really saddened and this really made me realize that I need to be much more pro-active in all of this. I got plenty of friends and family members who would have a lot of fun at these games. I'll be sure to make a better effort.
23k isn't that bad for us considering where we are coming from. Two to three years ago it would have been an announced 12k with perhaps 5k actually in the stands for UCF. We are making progress.
