I'm so drunk on winning

Post by ponyte »

I am so drunk on a 5-1 start.

I can't do a thing about our marketing. I can't do a think about our attendance. I can't do a thing about conference realignment.

But I can savor our 5-1 start like fine wine.

It has been over a decade since we had 5 wins in a row. It has been over a generation since we started the year 5-1. Good gosh I can't believe we are half way through the season and need only one win to be bowl eligible!

Has it been perfect? Not yet. Has it been a thrilling feeling? Nothing I have felt since the death penalty.

Good gosh this feels great! A TCU win that has to feel like some of the biggest wins in SMU history. Killer conference record so far.

Thank you Turner, Orsini, Jones and most important, the Mustang players for such a great season.

Many thanks to all the coaches for their leadership, but echo special thanks to the men of the team who work day in and day out playing and practing. It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Mustang!
It makes sense to me.

It is great to see that others are excited about this too and not just hard wired to [deleted] about something.
"This is . . . dedication to distraction by fans. Is that what I'm going to go with Jay?"
"That poor kid has to be wondering what is dad doing."

Ponyte, thx for letting us enjoy it. More importantly, biggest thanks of all to Turner, Orsini, players and, of course, JJ.

You can really sense a good vibe from the players...this is a special team that is getting better every week.

During JJ's post game interview, he referencecd major events inside the team. Apparently these teammates are very committed to each other and their performance on the field. There must be much more we don't know about? It's working and we are proud of them.
