for those of you who still complain about our local coverage in the DMN, please see the front of SportsDay2 (the college section)

Winning cures EVERYTHING.

Really liked the reference to Kyle McDermott - Sports Day "Twice as Nice", page 1, bottom left corner. Good to know they're in touch.

Kyle McDermott is my favorite player. Great arm and smart on his feet.

JJ Padron looks like a solid back up.

SMU's Biomedical Robotic Engineering Department, working in conjunction with the SMU Athletic Department, has announced its development of the prototype of a new successful college quarterback being called, Kyle McDermott. News at eleven!

great coverage, but honestly couldn't they have snapped the same frickin picture from an angle that had the west stands in the background instead of the east stands? really makes you wonder what somebody's motives are or if they are just clueless.

My first thought too, HF. I think the DMN does a great job covering our program but that picture makes us look terrible. Of course, it is what it is, there was no one on the east side.

"Can't"? Not asking anyone to hide anything but you can choose any photo you want and from any angle. There is no reason it has to be that particular shot. Heck, Mr. Pony posted some great pics here last night that would have been much better and not misleading in any way.

In the 'Society' section in the DMN yesterday it was mentioned that JJ took his whole offensive line out to 36 ounce steak dinners at Mercury. Mercury is a very nice expensive restaurant in North Dallas on Preston and Forest. Its nice to have a rich QB for your team!...JJ is close to a scratch handicap golfer also who traveled all over the US playing high end golf courses this summer.

Really??....we have a DMN front page shot of the SMU guys after a TD and you are complaining of a picture of the west stands in the background and questioning their motives?....that's absurd.

ok Scott, whatever you say, they probably had 300 to choose from, why pick that one? its a pretty boring picture actually that also has no particular relevance to the headline 'Riding high' either. You can take the view that we should be happy with the coverage no matter what, or you can look at it that when we get good coverage, can we at least get a quality, exciting looking choice of a photo? Its just a goofy choice for a nearly full page color photo.
