According to June at the luncheon today, we spent $5 million for the new turf in Ford............... yet we have no money for marketing.

Might have been mandated by the health department. As many dumps as the new horses took on the previous field, it was probably unfit for human contact.

5 million! Are you sure that did not include anything else? School district replaced the High School field, same as SMU's, out here last year for 1.2 million.

Make sure to use the "June Jones Exaggeration Formula":

$5,000,000/2 = $2,500,000. Then add 20% exaggeration inflation.

So the field really was $3,000,000...

Divide that by 5 and then focus on fact one donor paid for it. TCU's grass field costs $500,000/year to maintain

That turf money came with strings attached. They couldn't have used the dedicated money for anything else.

We got a $40 million pledge for Moody. We can't use the money for anything else. Stop this stupid [deleted] argument that why aren't we spending this money on [deleted] marketing.

We all want it, but, until somebody with a huge checkbook opens it up and says, "hire a bunch of whores to shake their [deleted] in front of frat guys to make them go in the game," it won't happen. The best alternative is getting in an AQ conference with major television money that pulls us out of an operating deficit.

Until then, donate to the Morgan Campaign, that is the only major source of funds for marketing efforts.

That is a capital improvement to a facility. facility improvements do not come out of the athletic department budget.
