When was the last time SMU was shut-out twice in a season?Another [deleted] whipping for a Bennett coached team. The offense appears to have reached a new all-time low, again.....
The offense wasn't good (see the scoreboard), but at least it sounded like we're moving the ball. (Of course, getting it in the end zone would help.) The defense, though, is taking on a lot of water through those holes were linebackers once were.
turning it over early in the game as you are about to score certainly doesn't help. This program has been fragile for years and it doesn't take much to open the flood gates, but this year we lead the nation in worst turnover ratio. Is that because our guys are simply outmatched physically most weeks, or what? We've been searching for someone who can lead this offense and PROTECT the ball for how long now? Losing Phillips is hurting more than we might have imagined. The balance of this season is all about seeing what Eckert and Romo can do. I think Bennett should be shuttling these guys at this point. I don't see any big advantage to either, although Eckert accounted for 3 TOs last night.
