I am not worried about losing the markets, i just really like the proposed divisional setup. But its probably the SMU fan in me to have the need to find something to worry about.
Here is my opinion which is worth what you paid for it:
The Big East Commish is a moron. Besides needing a new haircut, the way he is handling the expansion process is ultimately going to lead to the demise of the conference.
To come out last Friday and let everyone know who they are inviting was stupid. Look at the Big 12 with TCU, quick process and no lag time to let other conferences adjust. Now that this has been sitting out there for a week, it gives the opportunity for someone to throw a wrench into process. If they had issued invites on Friday, we wouldn't be waiting for Mizz to dictate what happens next. He should have made the 4 new schools either sign on the dotted line or revoke the invites. Now, Boise isn't going to go to the BE until they see what the Big 12 does with West V and UL.
Then, to say that no invites are coming until after BB media day is dumb. They won't have a BB conference once this thing falls apart anyway.
Here is the only way this conference stays together which I am supprised nobody has given more attention to:
Get Notre Dame Football into the Conference. Here is why:
Notre Dame will have to find a new place to house the rest of their sports once the BE goes away. This will cause them to most likely join one of the power conferences and be forced to place their football program there as well.
Rather than do that, they should be the UT of the Big East and rule the conference. They can boss everyone around and get the perks that UT has.(Which I would gladly sign on for at this point) This way, they don't have to answer to the big dogs (Mich, Ohio State in the big 10 or OU and Texas in the Big 12 etc) Its almost like they are still independant. In my opinion, once West V and UL leave, nothing will allow for the BE to retain their BCS status unless you have ND.
During the press conference the BE comish says ND is the most commited of anyone in the Conf. If that is really true, they would step up and save the conf by placing their football program there. That is why I think the BE should focus on ND to salvage the Conf.

I didn't say that it would ever happen, because we all know it wont. All I am saying is without, everyone is wasting their time talking about the BE because it is done once WV and UL leave which will absolutely happen. Our best shot is to hope Conf USA-MWC get a BCS nod.
