Big East Bowl Tie-ins

Big East Conference

The Big East Conference has seven bowl tie ins, up to six of which choose a Big East school in any given year.[3]

2010-2013:

#1 Bowl Championship Series. The Big East Champion receives an automatic bid to one of the BCS Bowls with an At-Large bid. 2010-2011-Fiesta, 2011-2012-Orange, 2012-2013-Sugar, 2013-2014-Fiesta
#2 The Champs Sports Bowl receives the second pick of the Big East teams, after the BCS participant is determined.
#3 The Belk Bowl receives the third selection of the Big East teams.
#4 The New Era Pinstripe Bowl receives the fourth selection of the Big East teams.
#5 BBVA Compass Bowl / AutoZone Liberty Bowl . The #5 selection from the Big East will face either the #8 or 9 team (shared pick) from the SEC in the BBVA Compass Bowl or the C-USA champion in the Liberty Bowl.
#6 The Beef ├óΓé¼╦£O├óΓé¼Γäó Brady├óΓé¼Γäós Bowl receives the sixth Big East selection.

so my question is, with expanding membership, could another be added? does it make sense for the Armed Forces bowl, in Fort worth, to be a CUSA/MWC bowl game anymore? SMU, Houston and TCU have appeared in 5 of the 8. not saying it should, but i would think they might add a tie-in with a bowl in Texas.

Good thinking. I am sure some will be added, there are currently 6 for 8 teams. Armed forces would be great, not sure what others. havent thought about it.

It will be fun to look at what our BE schedule will be, and if we are projected to make a bowl our first season.

I thought about that one too. Probably pays more. But is a newer bowl so I figured agreements with conferences would have more time. Was just thinking that the AFB could only have 2 years left. And with navy and AFA in the BE it would seem logical.

Not that it's a sexy bowl, but an AQ with 12 teams should have 7 tie ins since one is going bcs.

CUSA has six. I would think an 12 team big east would have 8.
