Of the top 50 revenue-producing programs in college sports, 49 are football. The exception is Louisville basketball, which is ranked 37th.
"And that's because we sell alcohol at our games, and no one else does," Pitino said.

I wonder how they got away with doing that.

Nothing new other than that point.
Some people simply forget just how bad it was...

They locate their arena outside of university park.

That isn't true. Creighton sells alcohol at their basketball and their baseball games too.
They even do pre-game $1 beers at the basketball games, right up to tip-off.

It's like listening to June whenever he references numbers. Don't believe him. Otherwise, I got off cheap because one Juneism was that it cost 60K a semester to go to SMU.

Also, UP repealed their alcohol rules. You can now buy beer at 7-11's, and restaurants in Snider Plaza no longer require club membership (UNICARD) to purchase with food. As a result, Kuby's stopped selling altogether because it was not as profitable to not be a club.
This is now legally achievable based on local laws, but I doubt the school approves. The new club at Moody will likely sell like the club at Ford though.

Since Turner was a large anti-booze supporter in UP vote don't look for SMU to change

Never got the logic behind a dry UP. It's Dallas, not Waco. UP stops basically at 75, so that means there are only about 5,000 places to obtain alcohol within 3 miles of campus.

Sad day when Kuby's stopped selling beer w/their meals.

Still byob but nothing quite like a frosty liter of draft Warsteiner.
