Time to start Romo

Postby The PonyGrad » Tue Nov 02, 2004 1:58 pm

Tulsa is the ideal team for Romo to start against and Romo has had much better on field efficiency (pass eff. is 122.47 vs. Eckert's 99.94.) And he has very good run production. He deserves a shot at starting.

Tulsa is definitely one of the weakest rushing defenses we will have faced with the only exception being San Jose St. Nevada is also statistically weak in rush defense so the same thing applies to that game.

Eckert has the better long passing game except that he has 11 interceptions. Romo has only one.

It makes no sense to do the same things that are not working when there is a viable alternative. :!:

It is turnovers where we are getting killed so let's take a new direction in this game.

It would be nice if one of our RB's would step up as well - this has definately been the worst performance by the SMU RB's post DP.

While you love to cast negative spin with assumptions only, it may surprise you to know that last season with KK our YPC was a paltry 3.08. This season it is a still listless 3.19 but it is better than last season.

And yes, Romo has improved the average.

We need Romo in at wideout, that opens up the field for everyone else.

Why at wide-out? He would be just one more wide-out where he could be the QB that moves the ball without turning it over. 8)

And he's now on the Dallas Cowboys' roster. Weird.

Hey, I'm happy as hell for KK. He looked a little beaten down last year, because of the punishment he'd taken, but that dude could really run well, if not overly fast. And he's a great guy - good luck, Keylon!

BTW what position is he listed on the roster as- I always thought he was playing out of position at SMU and would have been moved to FB by any other school.

Cowboys list him at running back.

I wondered about him at FB, too. Think he could have bulked up enough? I don't know if he could have added enough weight, although he certainly was (is) a willing blocker, when asked.
