EVER be able to see the same team show up to play on a consistent basis? Or will we always be riding a football rollercoaster?!?

Great question. Was talking on the drive to Hattiesburg about this very issue. At the time I wondered aloud if we'd turned that corner.

this team is not ready to go into a place like Hattiesburg and come out with a W

That's a good team we lost to last night. Would have been nice to have been more competitive, but brace yourselves...we still have Tulsa, Navy and Houston to deal with. Houston looks pretty strong right now

How many figured we would be 5-2 right now?

Agreed. Not the end of the wold. 1-1 through the toughest stretch in our schedule. I think we can do better against Tulsa than we did against USM. Navy's O isn't as strong as it has been so that one is very winnable. I am not sure we can't hang with UH.

One question, with super pass rushers like Davis, why are we only rushing three and dropping so many into coverage. We had great success on D when we blitzed the passer earlier in the season.

We'll get better consistency when we get better talent. Our talent at QB and on the o-line isn't good enough to run this offense effectively.

How do they not get fired up for this game? Looked flat all night. OL SHOULD be consistent, got dominated. Worries me for next year..

Beat Tulsa, tulane, navy, rice, uh probable loss (9-3 works for me)

Seemed to me were effective running left. L OT kept kicking the end out and Zack would get yardage. Hardly ever saw that again. Instead we run right.........

Oh, well..... :(

The lethargy was really puzzling, especially since the team supposedly loves to play on the road.

Honestly, a loss against Houston makes 9-3 no different than 7-5 (in terms of bowls). Hopefully JJ starts playing the younger guys once we get to 7 wins in order to get the team healthy and ready for Houston (and beyond).

You want to improve every year, 9-3 would be good. They aren't thinking like that.

Good crowd at Plano 1st and 10.
Came out flat, sloppy and slow. Dropped balls, overthrows and lack of protection.
Flag again!!

So. Miss is a good team... we all should have known that.

Needed our best effort but did not perform today.
Maybe we play them again later this year?

Go Mustangs.

I was hoping for a win, too, but I sure didn't expect it. Southern Miss is a big, fast, athletic team that has just as much experience as we do. It's not like we just lost to Memphis. You know Coach Jones's mantra about "you have to win your conference games at home and try to steal one (or some) on the road"? Well, Southern Miss also has eyes on a conference title, and just won a conference game at home.

Losing to anyone sucks. So let's focus on what's important - beat Tulsa!
Plagiarize!
Let no one else's work evade your eyes.
Remember why the good lord made your eyes.
So don't shade your eyes, just
Plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize!

(Only be sure always to call it, please .... "research.")
