After waking up and thinking about it ...
I think, if they played on a neutral field, Southern Miss would beat TCU. We didn't play great, of course, but they had a lot to do with that. That's a good team that beat us last night, and I think a better team than Froggy High.
Anyone agree with me? Or am I just feeling the hangover of yesterday's game?

They were also very well coached. Their D coordinator did a great job exploiting our O line and calling the right blitzes that caused considerable pressure the majority of the time.

They won one for Bobby Collins

Re: After waking up and thinking about it ...
they looked great but we also looked incredibly flat. would love to see a rematch at a neutral site.

If this team can't march down the field and score its gonna be a long day.
It was a long day and night

Southern Miss fan here. Thanks for the kind words. Hope y'all enjoyed your trip to H'burg (for those that could make it).
Don't forget we took care of Froggy High's BCS bid in 2003. Hoping to do the same to Houston High this year.

That's ok. We will take care of Houston and then see you in the rematch.

If we don't beat Houston I definitely would not want USM to beat them in the CUSA Championship game becasuse that would stop a CUSA team from possibly going to a BCS game and getting major BCS bowl money for each conference team.

I believe the official term is "Cougar High."

Good luck the rest of the way ... unless we meet again in the C-USA championship game, of course!
Re: After waking up and thinking about it ...
I didn't see the first half, but when I saw the score of 13-3, I knew we were in trouble especially when ZL already had close to 100 yards. That meant we couldn't complete any passes. The backbreaker was the INT in the endzone on third down. Even if thrown away, we get a field goal and its 13-6, a one score game with a full quarter to play. Instead they get huge momentum score, we then throw a pick 6 game over.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: After waking up and thinking about it ...
That is "why you play the game...to win!" Wouldn't it be a boring sport if the favorites always won? Cowboys and Rangers and their fans feeling good today but a couple of days ago it was gloom and doom and must be wins needed! For some reason many "not-in-the-know fans" from SMU think SMU should beat usm because they are just not a good school. TCU fans thought their team should not lose to SMU based on past performance but it is a new year! USM has been a good program with good coaches and beter fans than SMU for a long time.

i sure hope we are practicing red zone offense:
"SMU running back Zach Line rushed for 163 yards, but couldn't score on eight carries inside the 10-yard-line."
