Possibility of another Iron Skillet match up at the Ford?
If we don't win the C-USA Championship and TCU loses to Boise making their record consist of 3 losses, is there a shot at an Armed Forces themed Iron Skillet match up at the Ford in December??? Thoughts?
Re: Possibility of another Iron Skillet match up at the Ford
i think it might be cool, but don't think either school would do it. Plus, we have bragging rights, no reason to give them a second chance this year.

BYU is already named for the Armed Forces Bowl so it would have to be a threesome. NTTIAWWT.

Won't happen. BYU is already locked into this bowl if they are bowl eligible.

They can get their shot at it next year.

Thats sucks, I'd rather watch that match up if we don't win the conference.

We already beat them once this year? Let's play someone else.

I'm greedy! I want to beat them twice in one year... The overall rivalry is 44-40 TCU with the rest being ties... But it would be risky putting the skillet o the line after only holding it for 3 months...

I've got a feeling we are going to see 8-4 SMU against 7-6 Hawaii in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl but could still be looking at Big 10 opponent in Ticket City (although I think that will go to Houston/USM loser...assuming they meet for CUSA Championship)
Re: Possibility of another Iron Skillet match up at the Ford
Heard somewhere that Ticket City Bowl organizers want an SMU/Penn State matchup, but I'll be shocked if we're playing anywhere other than in Hawaii.

Last thing I want is to play a tcu team that is bitter about losing to us. It is difficult to beat the same team 2x in the same year.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

SMU/Penn State would be great!
That would be an awesome matchup. But like others on here have said, it seems likely we're headed to Hawaii if we don't win the conference.

I wish we'd move on from the Hawaii bowl. We already went. We already won. No fans can realistically attend. Most fans would attend any other bowl game we get, and I think most fans would love a match up with a Big 10 team to measure where we are as a program.
We can schedule Hawaii anytime. How often do we play a Big 10 team in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl???? Penn st, OSU...it would be big time finally. Hawaii bowl is small time and nobody cares about it. Period.

Re: Possibility of another Iron Skillet match up at the Ford
As I have mentioned before, my problem is in rewarding the players. I do not know that it would be fair to leave them in Dallas 2 years in a row. I personally would like anywhere except Hawaii and Ticket City would be my first choice after the Liberty Bowl, but in my opinion the bowl game is more of a reward for the players than old fogies like me. I know that is arguable, but the fans that contribute the most can afford to go anywhere. I want the players to get the most out of the experience. Even the N.O. Bowl against the Sunbelt would be more fun for them than the Ticket City I would think. Just my thoughts. Again, I prefer Liberty against SEC or Ticket City against Big 10 but do not think Dallas is fair to the kids.
