Hope you're not taking my comments as anti-UT. When I'm not rooting for SMU, I'm pulling for the horns. All I was eluding too was UT carries all the weight in that conference, so if they leave the conference stability flies right out the window. Not sure there is any other conference that relies so heavily on one school. I would call that instability when you are counting on one school, others run to it as more stable.

Will someone please explain to me why the Big 12 is a better place to be then the BigEast. I don't mean for SMU, but for a school with no prior history.

Money? It doesn't seem to pay that much more.
Stability? Rumors of UT and OU bolting are not uncommon.
Competition? Seems like a tough place to play.
BCS? Seems both have that.
Academics? Doubtful.

So why does everyone want to be Bevo's [deleted]?

And as for geography...Boise or BYU in the Big East make as much sense as WVU in the Big12.

When you factor in joining an AQ conference, Boise and BYU does make sense. Much like TCU's move/non-move to the BE made perfect sense. It's about getting to an AQ conference. The move for TCU to the B12 was a no brainer to simply because of historical rivalries and geographical ties.

To move from an AQ east cost conference (when you're on the east coast) to move to another AQ conference where the majority of the teams are close to 1,000 miles away from you, you have no ties to any of the programs historically, and you love to burn couches doesn't make much sense. I get it. Stability. Money. Screw rivalries, competing and building within your own conference, and winning for some. The grass is always greener...

As soon as aTm said they were leaving the whorens +9 conference started immediately screaming lawsuit. I find it interesting that the whorens+9 doesn't think the BE would not take legal action for their raiding the BE. Whorens and their beatches seem to be amazingly arrogant.

WOW, I thought it was theirs for the taking but they did not want it. To read this guy it seems like a shock to BYU that they did not get it. Perhaps that means they would be receptive to a BE bid.
