I'm not arguing for equestrian. I just don't like baseball and I'm not convinced its worth it.

I'm not going to campaign against it or anything geez.

I'm sure the baseball stadium is on the list- about 20 places below the IPF (which might happen in the next 10 years).

Maybe what I really mean to say is this:

I have a lot of pride in SMU. I really want us to excel in everything - academics, sports, whatever.

For sports, I feel like we have quite a bit of work to do in the marquee sports (and some other sports). In my mind, opening up two new sports (baseball + women's something) will further distract our resources from achieving success. Therefore, I'm not a fan of adding a sport just for the sake of adding a sport, until we can demonstrate an ability to compete (elsewhere) and support "new projects."

And honestly, any arguments of "if XYZ wants to give money for ABC, then why not" also applies to another Museum on campus. So that line of thinking (whether true or not) leads down a dangerous road.

That said, if you guys want baseball @ SMU, I'm not going to get mad (...publicly  ). I just have no interest in it.

I'm going back to derailing threads.
