I'll buy that! It was not an accident that the Model was created BEFORE an Athletic Director and Football Coach were hired. Some of you may not know that. The Pye Model was created by academicians without practical input from experts(ADs, coaches and staff) familiar with college athletics

You can silence a critic but that does not change the truth. Apparently if you don't like the program, you have to pay to have your opinion heard. That's a little like asking people to throw good money after bad. Maybe the arguement should be that if you want to spread sunshine, then you should have to pay up to prove you are a real supporter. Does that make any more sense than telling Dickerjames to ante up? It's a cheap shot to go after former players about who got paid and who didn't. The proposal to have a summitt meeting of "name" players and other supporters is over due. Unless someone rallies the troops to save the program, then as Dandy Don loved to sing, "turn out the lights, the party's over."

Being an 84' grad. I do not think that James was given anything but a ship. Maybe a free meal or two but not on the payola.

I thought it was the "lure of the triangle" that influenced James to pick SMU over Alabama. Many of you know what (who) I'm referring to.

I don't really care whether or not Dickerson, or James for that matter, give any money to the program, but what I would like to see is an investment of just a little time, not much, but just a little to let recruits know that playing for SMU is a worth while endevor. That little bit of time 10 years ago would have gone a long way towards helping us get better...even with the screwed up Pye thingy.
