This might be the worst / least informed realignment article i have read. Writer talks as if the Mega 32 Conference was Big East's idea and then they backed out last minute. Writer doesn't realize the additions of SMU/UH/Navy/Boise/AFA/UCF have been in the works for weeks. Wow.

Good point. I don't see BYU swiping our spot. From everything I've heard, its SMU pushing hard to get BYU in with us. They need to add a few basketball schools, so adding SMU/UH/UCF in all sports plus AFA/Boise/Navy/BYU puts the conference at 12 football and 16 basketball.

BRStang, i understand it is our nature as SMU fans to expect the worst, but i think really don't think we're going to get left out.

Yeah, look, I really don't think BYU is going to take our place in the Big East, especially after what I understand has been SMU's efforts to keep the Big East in tact. That said, I also never thought I'd hear that WVU's admission to the Big 12 was revoked after they had planned a press conference for Wed to announce their big move. These things change by the hour it seems. I just wanted to throw that little nugget out there for consumption, which is what you do on a message board. I'm sure Orsini & Co have thought of all the angles on this and I know we are in good hands. However, I'd be ok with the 14 team thing, too.

Because Notre Dame has a football vote and because of Orsini's ties there, I would bet we are safe. I actually am fine with 14 teams if it includes BYU.
