I was at the game yesterday when I picked up a map of the campus and the improvements that they have scheduled (or at least did as of Dec. 2002), and I noticed a couple of interesting thing.
1. When the LXA, SAE, and Letterman's hall are knocked down they are going to put up a "Replacement for Letterman." Does anybody know what exactly this means? I am pretty sure that jock dorms are outlawed by the NCAA but is this possibly going to be used for athletes (maybe us actually trying to skirt the rules just a little bit) even if not exclusively?
2. Moody is going to be expanded outward and to the north a little bit, looks like it is going to be about 50% bigger. Additionally Airline drive is going to be taken out south of Binkley, as if to create a "sports quad" that includes Ford, the soccer field, Moody, Dedman, and the new parking structure.
3. The tennis teams are going to be getting an indoor facility. Well deserved I think, they are yet another team that we have that has done more with less. The indoor facility will be put where the "cinco center" is now.
4) The Dedman center expansion looks to be huge. Over twice the size it is now. Pretty swanky, too.
Bunch of other buildings that look to be built that I have no idea what they will be used for, but I am am looking forward to seeing them being built. Engineering quad is gonna get another three buildings as of now.
Any word yet as to what the school is planning on doing with the Mrs. Baird's property?

The unstated purpose of the property is the Geroge W. Bush Presidential Library. His decision will be announced in the second term. Yale, A&M, and Rice are also contenders.

Hopefully they don't put any more seats into Moody given that we don't exactly fill it up on a regular basis. Hopefully they will just add a practice facility and improve the concourse/concession area.

You forgot to mention the goal posts, which lower after a win. Now the students can't tear them down and hurt someone!

Both Yale and aTm both already have a Presidential Library so I find it doubtful that they are seriously in the running.

Also, Baylor is in the running for the library since Crawford is real close to Waco.
Just send 'da money.

You are wrong.
Yale may have most of the Taft papers, but it does not have a monumental "Presidential Library" on its campus (building large presidential libraries only began with Truman, and Yale does not have the space). As for A&M, his dad's library is there and a lot of people think it would be a sentimental choice.
SMU's draw is obviously its location in Texas and Laura.

don't forget Cheney being on our board prior to running for v.p., and karen hughes is an SMU grad also. Plus most early supporters for his run for govenor are here in Dallas.
It is in texas for sure - basically between Baylor and SMU - edge to SMU given our better location.

And if we don't get the library, maybe we can build a FRESHMAN parking garage on that site that could also be used for the hugh football crowds we are going to see when we reach 10 and 11 wins every year.
Just send 'da money.

As a LXA alum, I can tell you the LXA and SAE houses are being torn down to build a parking garage. Wish it was being torn down for something more substantial, but it is what it is.
I don't know about Letterman Hall.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
