Keenum is as big of a system QB as they come. Great numbers, but if I'm an NFL exec I'm not signing him to be anything but my backup QB

Keenum played in 3 games during his medical red-shirt year so he has at least a 3 game bump on any QB of similar quality. Currently, he is 7 TDs ahead of Kellan Moore, but considering Moore's 3.5 TDs/Game average, those extra 3 games are absolutely the difference. Keenum also has nearly 500 more pass attempts compared to any other active QB which is absolutely attributed to the fact that Keenum has already played in 50 games in his career, or about 4.25 normal seasons. Red-shirted, four year starters (Keenum/Moore) are extremely rare, and Keenum also has a conference championship game (not available to WAC/MWC QBs) and three bowl games, one in each of his full seasons-also very rare. Is Case Keenum an elite QB, heck yeah, but he also has, and will continue to have, 6-13% more career playing time than any of his peers will enjoy.

Houston may have put up 73 points by Rice constantly letting the receiver be behind the entire secondary, but Rice was able to rush 359yds averaging 6yds per carry. Can't wait to see what Zach Line can do against UH's run defense. Banyard is not that much of a standout RB at UTEP and he was able to have 240yds at 10.9yds per carry.

for all the talk of Keenum's numbers, what about the WR Patrick Edwards? 7 catches for 318 yds (ave 45 yds) and 5 TDs? that gets a WOW!!!

Did not watch the game, but saw where Keenum threw two TD passes in the last four minutes of the game, nice. Looks like Kevin Sumlin is following in the footsteps of the other classy UH coaches, Jenkins and Pardee.

Art Briles would've done the same.

What are you talking about? Keenum wasn't even playing the last half of the 4th quarter.

Check the stats, amigo. The final score of the game came with over 10 minutes left.
