Glad its basketball season now....
The run n shoot is not dated. Pretty much every team in the NFL uses it to some extent and a ton of teams in the NCAA. They just don't call it the run n shoot, they call it whatever the hell they feel like. The term Run n Shoot might be dated but the principles the offense has been based on are not. You don't know what you are talking about.

Without JJ Line would have been playing FCS ball at Robert Morris.
You, and Zach, are welcome.
Offenses come and go in football. Option, Pro, West Coast, Power I, and I-Bone offenses are all as old or older than the RnS and found in other schools.
We're fine. JJ himself has said the breakout year was probably going to happen next year, and he said that well before this season started.
Thats JJ`s style loose and big plays over the top not hard nosed smash mouth.Live by the sword die by the sword and all that.I think ALL of our recent succes over the last few years is because of him and his laid back style.

The offense isn't the problem, it's the personnel. The R&S is heavily dependent on the QB and we've started nothing but scrubs at the position thanks to June's awful recruiting and development.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

He's said that the last 3 years. His motto is he's only 1 year away. He keeps shoving the history of the last 20 years in Orsinis face so no one questions him. He's a lot better than what's been in Dallas lately but nowhere near an elite coach.
SMU will keep being a nice 8-4/9-3 team under him and able to beat teams ranked 55-120. Not going to break the attendance barrier though.

Wait a minute, who said he was an elite coach and when have we ever finished 8-4 or 9-3 under him?

Probably a good assessment about JJ...he isn't a good game day coach at all, but he will get SMU out of the dregs and into credibility status and maybe the next coach will take SMU to the next level.
June Jones is the reason we will have a winning season again this year. When did winning seasons become the norm (I mean after the Death Penalty)? A couple of years ago maybe? Wonder if there is a connection? But then I remember when the only reason to go to an SMU game was to hear the wonderful music from the Mustang band.

True, Jones has brought winning and "expectations" to the program. He has even got the administration re-committed to football. However, when a program plateaus, as has SMU these last 3 seasons, maybe he has reached his Peter Principle and a new coach can get the team to break through.
Why do we continue to post on any thread that shadowman or Otter starts? They are both like broken records. In fact, they may actually be the same person.
