Thanks June!
We lost two games and it is beyond frustrating, but June Jones saved this program. He took us from the depths of Hell to make us a winning program. Lose two games and he needs to be fired! What a complete joke.
The Run & Shoot is outdated? Tell that to every single NFL program that runs some form of it.
No Passion? Just because he does not turn red with anger and yells in the players face, he has no passion? Talk about something that is old! Junes style works folks!
We should be building a statue of the guy for getting us to where we are (nobody else could do it). I rather be winning every game as well, but that does not happen.
When others schools start calling (and they will) tell me how much you hate him then!

Re: Thanks June!
DAMN straight blue blood im not happy with the last two weeks but the last few years watching this program has been awesome hell i dont even pay that much attention to LSU any more and it is mostly thanks to june.Any one who thinks we can get a better coach just go ahead and try to name 3 that would have come here a few years ago or would even come here now.We got whipped two weeks in a row yes there seems to be some problems but so what stop being bishs and hope that june can get the kids to play well this week.
Re: Thanks June!
Thanks June ....now leave. I hear UCLA needs a turn around.
Re: Thanks June!
Maybe Arizona.
Re: Thanks June!
You're exactly right, DBB.
After 25 years of losing, I'm loving the fact that even after two losses, we can debate WHICH bowl we'll be going to.
Thank you, Coach Jones. Keep building our program.

Bowl? The team that played the last two weeks can not win another game this year.
When you're used to losing for 25 years you will settle for anything
Tulane is coming and hells coming with them .

No doubt. Agree completely. Joe Paterno has been a great coach at PSU. Accolades earned and deserved. But, how many PSU hard cores would say that it was time to hand the reins over a while ago.
Not a good parallel but sometimes it is time to say thank you very much, and hand over the batton to the next guy.

Re: Thanks June!
The responses (except for one) are completely without logic. Now, if you said after the TCU win, that you felt like June was the wrong coach, while crazy, you get a pass.
As to the Penn State fans, welcome to delusional fanhood. The game has not passed these guys by. Has anyone ever noticed that most formations and plays are just recycled.
Here is Penn State's Record over the last 5-Years to show how stupid fans are. You can't win a National Championship every year people!
2006 - (9-4) Won the Outback Bowl - Finished 24th in the Nation
2007 - (9-4) Won the Alamo Bowl - Finished 25th in the Nation
2008 - (11-2) Lost the Rose Bowl - Finished 8th in the Nation
2009 - (11-2) Won the Capital One Bowl - Finished 9th in the Nation
2010 - (7-5) Lost the Outback Bowl - Not Ranked
I don't think Joe Paterno has lost his touch!

Mestengo you and I were the only two pony fans I saw standing and yelling at the team. There is a problem, but I have no problem with June. QB play has been horrible two weeks in a row. He has put the team in a position to win and they simply have not executed. That's not on him. It is on the players.
There is something seriously wrong with this team and I plan to find out what it is this week. I knew last Wednesday the team was not right or ready to play but did not want to post it. I am personally going to get the scoop.

Re: Thanks June!
Yes, thank you Coach Jones for bringing this team out of the cellar and to our first bowl games in 20 years. You deserve all of our thanks and gratitude as SMU fans, and I hope you are able to stick around and help our team go even higher---first to a conference c-ship one day and then maybe even a BCS bowl game.
By the way, just one little thing: Do you think you could maybe do a little something to fire up the team after the last couple of weeks and help them find their mojo? I don't know. Maybe kick a locker or something. Jump around and yell. Whatever it takes. Thanks much!
I'll see you this weekend when I + 3 more will be traveling more than 500 miles to watch SMU lay wood to Tulane. I promise, keep winning, but do it consistently, and slowly but surely the fans will start increasing. You only need to look 45 miles to the west for proof.

Re: Thanks June!
Clearly SMU is going through a funk, but it's not a time to call for a new coach. It's how a coach is able to turn around a program after things like this that shows his worth. June was able to turn around a team from 25 years of not caring. If he can't turn around a team from two games of apathy, I expect he would hand in his resignation personally if he is really that out of touch. But he isn't and has done nothing short of a miracle for SMU football. June has been a great coach, the team is still growing, yes SMU fans place high hopes on their team, but its hard to argue we are not headed in the right direction, even if it is at a slightly slower pace than some want. June probably wont send us to a BCS championship during his tenure here, but his rapid improvements mean that the coach that eventually succeeds him after he retires will only be a few seasons away without being a laughable thought. Name a high profile coach that wanted this team three years ago and think of what caliber of coaches will be willing to take on SMU after June. We are headed in the right direction.
Lets go back to ways to support our team and not add to their problems.

Re: Thanks June!
There is no team in the NFL that runs the R&S. There may be some that run some plays that are similar. No team in the NFL runs it's offense where the QB takes almost no snaps from under center. They all have the ability to throw when the QB is under center and run a running play also. Stop and think, the blocking back at SMU, when he gets a hand off is almost standing still and obviously has no lead blocker. In the NFL, when the QB is under center and hands off the ball, the RB is running full speed. The RB at SMU has almost no deception or misdirection working for him and unless he has blinding speed or really jukes someone he can't get outside on the perimeter. Having said that, SMU is not in the NFL and most colleges today run an offense where the QB has some designed runs and the defense has to account for him and sometimes two other RBs in the backfield in it's run defense. I know of no other major college that runs the R&S just like JJ does. Are all the other coaches wrong and is he right?
I appreciate that JJ and his staff have made the program better than it was but unless Old Do What We Do changes his offense we will never be able to compete consistently near the top. I have said that since the day he was hired.
