Concerned about Tulane

Post by Samurai Stang »

After witnessing two uninspiring contests, Tulane is becoming the most important game of the year. If SMU cannot find itself in the coming week and triumph overly lowly Tulane, then it is doubtful another game will be won this season.

We better come back fierce and pretty much demoralize them next week. Not that I dislike Tulane, but I just expect us to pull ourselves up and play like we are capable of and put them away decisively.

Tulane=Memphis, we should be able to overpower them on both sides of the ball.

The catch is "should be". I agree with you, but I never get overconfident with our team (see last 2 weeks performance).

It's homecoming. If you can't get fired up to play football during homecoming, you shouldn't be playing football at all.

There is ZERO reason to be concerned about Tulane.

ZERO.

They are a really bad team.

I'm sure we will dominate tulane and even navy the week later, only to get our hopes up for the houston game. Just so that when all hyped up against them, the 66-3 loss would hurt even more.

Tulane game will be an opportunity for SMU students, alumni and fans to show up and support this team. They have been through a very difficult 2 game road stretch and are undoubtedly down right now. A good rowdy home crowd is just what they need right now.

If we bring out the usual 16k for homecoming...and most of the students leave after the halftime festivities...let's not complain about why the team doesn't play with emotion

How quickly the past 20 years are forgotten. We are 5-3 and a game away from bowl eligibility. Let's not lose sight of that while flinging inane knee-jerk reactions all over the place.

Obviously, the offense is out of sync, so even if Tulane isn't very talented, I don't envision a blowout. I see a somewhat methodical, grind-it-out win that will leave us bowl-eligible for the third straight year.

Get the win, work out some of the kinks, and then do the same the following week in another win.

SMU v Tulane will be no contest

Tulsa' 9 game CUSA winning streak should have received more respect from SMU fans. Tulsa suffered a similiar loss to SMU last year and never lost again and hasn't lost another CUSA game since

Tulane has a decent QB and a decent RB. Outside of that, they have almost nothing.

There is a reason Toledo was fired.
