An East coast weighted conference that included military academies will never lose AQ status...
I further predict NBC or Fox overpaying for rights and making sure they have at least one piece of the BCS puzzle...
A question from Ohio...

I agree that the BE should not lose BCS status. Problem is that greed and politics have historically resulted in strange outcomes. This board has been full of chatter in the past mocking the ACC and BE football programs as weak and not deserving of an automatic BCS bowl bid. This year is a prime example where the BE may not have a top 25 team by the end of the year and C-USA 3 or more and more programs like SMU positioned to move up. Maybe loss of AQ status by the BE could be then afforded C-USA. BE is in a critical situation with Boise, Houston and the military academies a saving grace if they if fact they do join the BE. Loss of any one would be significant to the survival of the conference.

Call me naive, but I just don't see the powers that be shutting the door on the AQ status of a Big East that included Boise, Academies, and the northeast market

Too much money involved in the power center of the country (northeast) to just take the AQ away. Big East could then file suit against Big 12, ACC, and ultimately possibly BCS cartel. Just not going to happen IMHO

Exactly, it would be a disaster for the BCS to rescind the BE's AQ. The anti-trust lawsuit that they'd face would be pretty major. I just hope the Big East gets a substantial contract with NBC (or whoever it takes to get us both large exposure and $$$).
