Well the basketball side of the contract is big number as a whole. Unfortunately, the revenue is split into too many pieces of the pie. I would be interested to see if the revenue per team is that much better than the Big 10/Pac 12/Big 12.

It has been interesting to see the philosophy of different conferences in regards to expansion. The Big XII has focued soley on revenue per team and does not look to expand past 10 unless the additional revenue justifies that course of action. This shows just how greedy College AD's have become. In fact, there have been rumors out of the Big East offices that the whole reason the Big 12 took WVU over BYU or Louisivlle was based soley on what TV Network Execs were telling them.

In comparision, the Big East seems to be more interested in adding a large number of teams in hopes of future stability and not focus as much about revenue added by each specific school. It will be interesting to see the end results when the new contract is negotiated.

I do think we should all cheer for a Boise National Championship as it would do wonders for the Big East brand!

I think it will help your hoops $$$ immeasurably. You lose Pittsburgh but gain Houston, Dallas, and Orlando. You will get Dallas stations to start picking up Georgetown/Villanova games and Marquette/ND. Hopefully, with our hoops coach having somewhat of a National reputation, he can start recruiting some 5 stars by saying that they will get to play in the BE in the best hoops conference in America and get to play title games in Madison Square Garden. I am pumped for this.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

A Big East tag on SMU is going to greatly help our cause in making a better imprint in our market. It wont be the same as say a Big XII tag, but it is vastly superior to a C-USA tag which most people in the area are not even cognizant of.

It should be noted that we need to milk the hell out of this American Airline Center stuff we're doing with Okie State. If we can get more games at AAC, it's a huge recruiting and exposure advantage over a majority of Big East schools. We have so many tools available to build the SMU brand, now that we're in a big-time conference it's time to flex our muscles and get to it.
