Afraid of what, you ask? Sky-high hopes that are almost certain to shattered on the way to a 20-win finish and a post-season tournament. The WAC is not a weak-sister conference. That's why the magazines are picking SMU no higher than fifth or sixth. Dement wasn't that bad and Tubbs has yet to prove he is that good.

Agreed. Expectations of a 20 win season are misguided. Tubbs reign is going to be fun. Let's not ruin it before we even see these guys play a real team.
