Brad Kieschnick

Ladies and gentlemen, we have our left guard of the next four seasons. Or maybe they'll bump him around on the line, but this kid is a player, a good player. He's not as big and strong as some of the other guys, but he plays like he'd jump into a street fight just because it might be fun. If I'm Luker/Bartel/Wallis, that's the kind of guy I want blocking for me. Kieschnick seems to be the type of player who, if he flattens a defensive guy, might rip the guy's arm off just to beat him with it. Can't wait to see him in the fall.

For those of you who were at the scrimmage Saturday, how does Brad compare with the other linemen we signed last year, Scott Dale and Tommy Miller?

I think Brad Kieschnick is the best offensive lineman. He is such a wonderful player and has the desire to compete. I think this kid is going to go VERY far in life and kick [deleted] these next four years. You will probably see him in the pros after SMU! Until then, you will see him in probably every offensive play these next seasons.

The thing I like best about Brad as our left guard is his mobility. Left guards often are asked to pull and trap more than right guards, and Brad moves pretty well. If he can get bigger and stronger and maintain his movement, he's going to be a stud. He has great hands and reads defenders' moves pretty well, especially for a young guy, and he plays with a lot of leverage, and power in his legs and hips. But his quickness really sets him apart from the rest of the linemen.
