Couple of things:

I get JJ is hurt but eventually you have to admit that he has had bad judgment on plays and that he needs to count his blessings that some of the veteran receivers made tough plays for him....

The most annoying was the freaking thing he said hoping hawaii gets bowl eligable. I like June, i really do, but i hate his obsession with hawaii and that particular bowl. If he wants, tell them to schedule an OOC game with them and go to a decent bowl like ticketcity where the fans can actually travel. I can assure you that on Christmas eve I will be with family nowhere near that littly colony called hawaii. However, if we go to pretty much any other bowl, i will be there. Can someone please stop him from pushing this, I almost feel he lost the games against tulsa and usm on purpose just so we cant get conference championship and damage our rating to not get the ticket city bowl but enough to go to hawaii to play those rainbow losers

Man, June Jones has some nerve!! Him and the team wanting to go to a bowl game that you can't go to!!! How the hell did he not check with you first before he said he wanted to go to the hawaii bowl?????

Saying he lost the USM game and Tulsa game on purprose...hahahahaha. thats one of the funniest things I have read on this board...and this board has some ridiculous stuff on it. You really can't accept that USM is clearly a better team than us and had to play in a hostile enviorment? I wouldn't say Tulsa is a better team than us, but we just played like crap on the road.

If you can't spend $1500 per person to go to Hawaii you need to work on your income skills. Quit living over your means, don't let your home own you, don't buy a car you can't afford.
Ask your wife and kids if they would like to be on the beach for xmas. Look them in the eye and tell them you're not the man. If you need a new AC stay home

No need to be an [deleted] about it. Considering a majority of the people feel this way, I dont think I'm wrong in venting my anger. Yes picking a bowl that little to no people want to go to is selfish. Not everyone is retired with giant 401k to go to every little hawaii bowl game. Rather let the team be able to pick the bowl and play a Big 10 team or BYU before some stupid rainbow losers

Yes as a grad student, Im not going to fork over 1500, plus plenty of other expenses to go to Hawaii. It has nothing to do with income skills. Either you have been in your career for enough years with plenty of savings or you are just a typical spoiled snobb ex-student from SMU.

I know people here claim they know what the players want. They clearly arent going to say Hawaii bowl sucks or anything in fear of JJ not playing them. Im saying for sure the big players on our team that are seniors will (with probability) want better bowl coverage against better teams. Hawaii is not a good team, it would be the equivalent of playing UTEP. However you might have a point with any underclassmen on the team that just want to go to a bowl and have a sure win then yeah they would want a crappy bowl like Hawaii

Im just saying not everyone can afford it, only the "more well off than not" can just willy nilly go to the hawaii bowl. Im not living off my parents anymore and for awhile. Also why they chose to put it on Christmas Eve/Christmas, is beyond me. I mean I would have a shot at going with my family if they put it like 5 days before or after that.

What you need to do is temper your discussion with the fact that you want what you want for selfish reasons. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. I would rather they play anywhere but Hawaii for my sake. But you must realize that many SMU fans do not live in Dallas. We are spread all over the country and different bowls would suit different fans in different ways. I will not go to Hawaii. I could but 4 children and 7 grandchildren would be upset so I will not do it. But the players would still have a great time even though I am not there. Payoff will be the same for SMU regardless of where we go. Trust me, the players would be very happy with Hawaii.
