How Many Wins ...

Postby Sir Trolls A Lot » Fri Nov 12, 2004 8:55 pm

Fellas,

How many wins will we have to get in order to get some kind of TV deal? I would guess an average of 5 wins for three years.

I would pay $100-200/year to avoid having to listen to the despicable Ticket.

Buy a tv station, offer SMU $100 for the broadcast rights (subordinate of course to the other two deals they have with ESPN and Sports West) and you've got a deal or rent 3 hours of air time sell a few ads, and split the ad revenue after expenses with SMU. Away games only please. We don't need another reason for fans to stay home.

I believe that with the exception of Neutered Dame, TV packages are set through conferences, not individual games. I'm pretty sure that's the case with WAC teams, anyway.

Roach,

Thanks for the thoughts.

I think you are right for national coverage. However, I think teams can have separate local deals.
