Give us your roster # and the years "we" played. I can look up the information to see if "we" are a legitimate player, or if "we" are just a troll.

You've had some pretty good teams, including this year. But don't forget that SMU is 12-6 against Tulsa, including wins two of the last three years.

He has been a very good friend to me. One of those friends that you can count on when times are tough.

i dont count the years when we were fighting over the power bottom position in the WAC. I think you power bottomed us 6 years in a row.
; )

Trey was using the powers of Gamehendge to allow the show to continue, to give the band the strength it needed to help break through this barrier

I happen to think the Big East thing is the most ridiculous thing on the planet. The fact that you guys are all circle jo'ing off over SDSU just reinforces that point to me.
If dumbs are going to poke fun of a better program for solely being in a small media market Im going to continue to point at dumb people that are chest pumping the program that has historicly been a power bottom in CUSA over the big bad dallas market.
Its just gay. Media markets rule...but oh wait we want that Boise media market. You guys are funny.
I personally think Tulsa has done a very good job, in fact, a much better job than we have over the last 25 years since the DP. A lot of programs have, but we have obviously had a big challenge to overcome and it took us a long time to finally wake up and realize that something could be done to resurrect our football program. However, we've been good in other sports (eg, soccer, swimming, etc) for a while but not in the 2-big ticket sports. This is where the money comes from. But make no mistake, SMU's tradition in football is undoubtedly much richer than that of Tulsa. Some of that goes back many, many years no doubt, but it is still part of our tradition. We are trying to bring some of that tradition back and we are in a bigger market. Yes, we will have an advantage over Tulsa because of our market and we ultimately believe that we can bring back some of our storied past. We believe we're overdue. I know I do. I graduated from SMU when football was an after thought. I believe in our school, in our tradition and in what we can ultimately become. I want to see our school succeed in everything we do. We got the shaft 25 years ago when other schools were just or equally as guilty, and we're overdue.

Tulsa Phan wouldn't think the Big East thing was ridiculous if Tulsa was being invited.
I thought it was a bit stupid when it was going to be TCU. But really, if you get invited to the AQ dance, you say yes. AND you're invited to a premier hoops conference, you're telling me we should say no???

Some people simply forget just how bad it was...

Pretty much. I remember laughing at how stupid I thought TCU was for accepting the Big East invite (although in my defense, I argued against the invite because I thought TCU was on the cusp of getting into the Big XII, which actually happened). Now that the Big East invited us, I can't help but focus on that awesome basketball conference.
Re: Air Force thinking about staying in MWC?
Its a whole different deal with AFA, UH, Boise State in football and possibly BYU and/or San Diego State---- as the Western division is indeed in the western US and are close enough to be able to build alliances.

Re: Air Force thinking about staying in MWC?
If Tulsa were invited you and the rest of the Tulsa fans would be creaming your pants. And you'd be right to do so. A seat at the table, no matter for how long, is a seat at the table. The fact is no school or conference has ever had BCS status taken away from them. With Boise and Houston the Big East just grabbed two schools who are in the top 15 in the current BCS point system. By adding BYU, Boise, AFA, SMU, Houston, Navy, and Central Florida there are adding 7 of the top 10 non BCS programs in the country. If indeed SDSDU is offered that is terrific as well. Also, you bring in markets like Dallas, Houston, Colorado Springs/Denver, Mormon following and Utah, and adding academies is always a good thing. Especially the two academies who have had fairly good success recently on the football field.
Tulsa, sadly, is going to get left behind. Very likely, they will be left behind for good. What they have achieved on the field the last several years is impressive. But no one cares about Tulsa b/c its not a national brand and is located in Oklahoma. Tulsa's fate is the same as UTEP, Rice, UNT, UTSA, etc. An outsider looking in. Always have been. Always will be. Sucks but that's how the cookie crumbles. SMU has more money, academic prestige, better facilities, better location, political and administrative ties, and power brokers behind the scenes than Tulsa could ever dream of having. Sorry. But you know this is true.

I cant wait for the melt over here when Rutgers and UCONN go to the ACC and Louisville goes to the Big 12

You can't wait? Well, let's hope that doesn't happen. I think it's unlikely. Let's hope for SMU (you know the school you're supposedly a fan of) that I'm right.

Re: Air Force thinking about staying in MWC?
While I am happy for SMU going to the Big East, I am worried in a couple of years the Big 12-2-1+1 will go after Louisville and Cinncinnati. Those two will not hesitate to join the league. I am also concerned the basketball only schools would leave the Big East as well and start a new basketball only league. Hope it does not happen.
GO MUSTANGS!

Should SMU fans "PANIC," or is that only on Rivals boards.
