Playing Navy/Option offense, is always tough! I am looking forward to seeing our guys battle it out...

I think offesne will be interesting, watched the game last year, and I remember their secondary playing off but June still trying to run the deeper routes. I think if June sticks to the shorter passing game (quick flares, screens, bubble routes) our offense should be able to score. Just have to take care of the ball...

I think smudubs has the right idea. assignment football. fullback,qb,and pitch must me smashed on every play. we can't get caught up trying to watch the ball. carry out your assignments defense.

Just play the safeties in cover 2 and everyone else man up.

I'm sure they still get yardage...need the offense to hit them hard and early.

Sure we can. Reed and Rodgers tackle the fullback each play. Thompson and Frazier blast the quarterback each play. JG and Sanders blow up the pitchman every down. Secondary cover your man. Basic assignment football.

I recall that was how Notre Dame stopped the mighty Texas wishbone. One man on the FB, one man on the QB, one man each on each RB. They lined up in a "mirror" defense and went one on one. Only problem other teams had doing that was personnel. Notre Dame had the players to handle it. It was a sight to behold after a couple of years of Texas being unstoppable.

welp, fresh off of another butt kicking by another service academy running this option crap. I live in Atlanta and watch Paul Johnson run this every week at Georgia Tech. Teams that can follow directions crush Tech, (Va Tech is the most recent example) navy runs Paul Johnson's offense. Defenders have to carry out assignments. Maybe we will get the privilege to lose and give respect to another service academy in a bowl game.
