Not an ncaa issue- end of story. However, it is sad that JoePa will probably have to resign over this incident. I do not condone sexual abuse at any level but suspect that he felt he was doing the right thing by alerting his boss. Sad situation all around.

The NCAA has no involvement in this at all. It is an issue for the legal system. It has nothing to do with cheating, player eligibility, recruitment, or extra benefits. It doesn't matter that it is worse than a player taking money from an agent, it is a completely different thing.

That is like saying that if Dutch robbed someone, then the Health Department should shut down his restaurant because what he did was way worse than the joint down the street that had rats in the kitchen.

I am agreeing with you. I can only think that he believed he was doing all he needed to do and now realizes that was not the case. I know that if I had acted that way there is no way I could get up in the morning now.

it's an easy excuse for him now to say "i did what i was supposed to do". my point is that he should have known to do more as a parent.

i don't think i would have acted that way just because job protocol calls for it. Paterno is a father. he should have done more regardless of what the employee handbook says. there are more important things in life than football.

Paterno may have fulfilled his legal requirement to report suspected abuse by former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, state police Commissioner Frank Noonan said, ''but somebody has to question about what I would consider the moral requirements for a human being that knows of sexual things that are taking place with a child.''
