DALLAS -- Alvin Nnabuife became just the third player in NCAA history to return two fumbles for touchdowns in a game as the SMU Mustangs beat Nevada, 38-20, on Saturday, Nov. 13.
Nnabuife had the second-longest fumble return in school history with his 95-yard score on Drew Robinson's fumble in the third quarter for the game's final score. He also scored on a 17-yard return on Trevor Brackett's fumbled kickoff return for a 31-13 SMU lead. The only other players to ever return two fumbles for scores were Tyrone Carter of Minnesota against Syracuse in 1996 and Tony Driver of Notre Dame against Navy in 2000.
Some of ESPN's selections tonight weren't even close to this!
And Fox Sports Southwest's 'Hardcore Football' didn't even mention his two fumble recoveries for TD's! Just a 20 second 'mention' of the Mustangs' win over Nevada.
Pitiful.
