It's simple. 11 said he wished he had a reason to go inside the Cotton Bowl and then said he wouldn't go to the Red River Rivalry. Better Half simply gave him an alternative to see the stadium. Reading comprehension 101.
Oh Ha ha, why is it such a big deal if I want to see SMU play at the cotton bowl, hmm? Your better side doesnt seem a better side of you. (Yes just like the revese saying of those bumper stickers: "My money and my kid will never go to UT or OU."
Neither Better Half nor I were attacking you. As I said, she was giving you an alternative to OU/Texas to see the Cotton Bowl. Neither of us understood the particular post to which she replied to mean you wanted to see SMU in the Cotton Bowl. Maybe we misunderstood your post. In any event, she made her post in jest.

Listen I didnt feel attacked, the ha ha was just going along with comment before. I thought the alternative was a joke. Anywho, my dream game is watching smu in the cotton bowl thats all. I know her post was in jest, it was funny. Also, I dont know people on here or anything but I dont mean to offend any women on here. I also can tell I havent made too many fans especially myrdel (or however its spelled) pretty sure I made it onto his/her block list.
I block no one but spam. I appreciate everyone's opinion. I just happen to believe you are wrong in respect to blocking off the Blvd to guests and potential new fans.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
I personally did no hard work in achieving a bowl this year (writing a check doesn't count). The players and coaches did. It's a reward for them, not me.
I know if I were a player where I'd rather go.
The Cotton Bowl is a toilet. It may be our traditional home, but trust me, some traditions are better left for dead.
NO ONE who does not have strong SMU ties refers to it as "the house that Doak built".
Besides, is it true (as I have heard, but honestly dont know) that the TicketCity bowl has yet to pay the teams for their appearance LAST year?
We've seen how the team reacts when they travel someplace cool. We've seen how they react when they have to stay home for their bowl. I preferred their reaction to traveling.
Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.

I am fully invested in this program, just don't get June's excitement on going to that bowl game. Seems selfish.
If the Cotton Bowl is a toilet then Aloha Stadium or whatever they call it is the [deleted] inside the toilet. That place looks like it might fall down at any moment due to rust and lack of upkeep. The Cotton Bowl has undergone millions of dollars in improvements since we last played there. While June goes on hoping to save the Hawaii economy-Dallas officials really need a strong turnout in the TicketCity Bowl to save 90 years of Bowl tradition at Fair Park. I mean if we want to identify to the greater Dallas then that's a valid point-seems instead we are happy being Polynesia's team.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
I know it could use some renovations, but I believe that red river rivalry will continue to play at our old stadium. I think if we made efforts to get it for the Big East switch and help them renovate it to make it not a toilet. That would help us out, but maybe not I dont know. You could be right and just leaving it while we build our stadium, its just that if we ever want to expand (yes I know its not anytime soon) it will be much harder with the city regulations of not being above 4 floors or something like that.
If we go to SHB, then I hope the players, coaches and staff enjoy it, but I have to agree that the stadium seems to be a little crappy. Maybe with our big sellout they can use whatever funds to renovate it to a decent looking stadium.
I just hope that the attitude of we dont like to play in cold weather and/or at home changes. I mean obviously we need more fans, but when we do I hope they consider it big deal to get to play on a field in Dallas with their fans cheering behind them.
Also how does ticketcity get to host another game if they havent paid off the prior teams, is it possible that in the rules they have to meet a certain amount of attendance to payout to teams? If this is an issue, and they tell us we cant pay you but love for you to come, then Ill switch my opinion to F-them
UT and OU would much rather play in Jerry World. I don't see any way of changing this. It is an inevitability.

What do you think they are going to do if they move to Jerry world, and we are going to play there? Do you think they will end up abandoning and then demolish it?

yes. it will go bankrupt the year they take their game away. Grambling and TicketCity will not generate enough money to keep it open.

if you think cotton bowl is a toilet you haven't been there in past two years - it is much nicer. Not great - but up to acceptable.
Listen - I GUARANTEE that if that game is in Dallas area at all, then UT/OU will not move from fair park. That kind of environment is what makes the game special - and Jerry world is a cold boring office building in Arlington - if they leave cotton bowl it will be to play a home and home - which is a bigger possibility. The muckety mucks at both schools have heard loud and clear from everyone that they want the Tx state fair environment - not a suburban parking lot.

Couldnt agree more, I dont like the death star. I miss the old cowboys stadium and I hate that the current stadium is poching the parking lot from the Rangers stadium. Whoever the architect that design the rangers stadium should be recruited for any future stadium building or any ideas of renovations. That ballpark is by far the best.
