That is our season attendance average, according to my calculations.
I ripped 18 tickets myself yesterday, every little bit helps I guess.

This attendance average should improve as our team improves. Imagine, we attracted over 17,000 per game to watch a team that was 0-12 last year and ranked in ESPN's Bottom 10. With a few victories and the promise of a more mature, bigger, faster, stronger SMU team then we can hope for better crowds next year. We are working on turning the corner!

The scheduling alone will ensure a better average. We open with TCU, who will bring people, and also have Baylor, UTEP, and Tulane (not to mention Rice) coming to town. I belive we can average over 25,000, especially if we can win a few.

uh... I don't think Rice will help us in attendance next year. they only average about 15,000 in their own stadium and I don't recall a very big owl section in our stadium in the past.

I totally agree that winning will bring the fans, though.

Probably because they are all afraid of that maniac that walks around during SMU/RICE games with that large fake plastic owl with a butcher knife embedded in it's torso! LOL
