The NCAA CAN excommunicate Penn St. from the NCAA for a while similar to the death penalty, I would think.
based on which ncaa statute?
I would assume there is some method for the NCAA to kick out a member. Every organization has the ability to do this. It would be the dumbest thing of all time if they did not have this power.

Where is sandusky now? I'd venture a guess that this guy is going to meet his demise sooner rather than later...

Getting his back side in shape for prison time, if you know what I mean. From what I am told and have read in the news, child predators are the most hated people in prisons.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Joe Pa is gone
i'd venture to guess he's out on bail in some sort of police custody/safe house type situation. but that's only based on my experience with Law & Order SVU.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: Joe Pa is gone
This is going to get 'messier and messier' now that the Dept of Education (Federal) is getting involved.
There appear to be no Death Penalty violations per NCAA rules, but the impact of the spiraling criminal charges, civil exposure and cover-up will make SMU's transgressions pale in comparison.

Shame on Penn St for the way it treated JoePa. (Note: this Twitter account isn't connected to & doesn't speak on behalf of SMU)
They did the right thing and it's crazy to offer any defense for what JP did by looking the other way. I had always been a big fan of his, but that is over.

StallionsModelT wrote:"Lack of institutional control". We got the death penalty for giving cash to kids. Penn State had people at the highest levels involved in the systematic cover-up of serial child rape. You tell me what was more egregious. Cleaning house is not enough. I hope the NCAA gets involved in sanctions in conjunction with the litany of legal entities that will evaporate their athletic department and administration. This will follow them for 40-50 years.
Completely correct. They are toast. So sad.

Give credit to the BOT for doing the right thing. And it wasn't the popular thing. Paterno is a rapist pedophile enabler and protector. He earned his firing. Penn State can only do what is right at this point. That is the best for the shool, for the students and all activites and most important the victims. To Hades with rioting kids and self righteous alums. The right things need to be done now.

The university, responding to information provided by a graduate student in 2002 that he witnessed Sandusky performing anal sex in the shower on a boy about 10 years old, did nothing. The university did not call authorities and did not ever sever ties with Sandusky, allowing him to maintain an office on campus for years
Jail
It's just unbelievable they looked the other way for so long and continued to let him bring young boys on to the campus after catching him raping other children. I just cannot believe.

What's sad is that whatever punishment they get will not be enough.

Re: Joe Pa is gone
I keep seeing posts seeking NCAA sanctions....etc. Why is this an NCAA matter? It is certainly a moral and criminal matter, but what NCAA rules have been violated?
