BanjoBongo wrote:After two years Hawkins had BSU ranked, JJ didn't at Hawaii. Are you really going to tell me that Hawkins had more resources at Boise then at Hawaii? Hawaii has much more money then Boise. Boise was a community college so I don't buy the whole JJ didn't have the resources bit. Hawkins was a BSU for less time then JJ was at Hawaii, it wasn't until Junes's 8th year that he got them to a BCS game. Hawkins would've had Boise in a BCS game if he would've stayed. JJ has proven he can't compete at a BCS level, look at the teams in BCS conferences he's beaten in his 12 year career. Btw we will continue to improve but at what point in our conference winning past ten years did you seriously believe that we'll win at a higher level. What does money have to do with recruiting? Winners want to play with a winning program, the program has to prove that can win and that will bring better recruits not money.

Jones left Hawaii because they have no money!!! June Jones inherited a Hawaii team that had lost all of its games the previous season and was on an 18 game losing streak! Dan Hawkins inherited a solid Boise State team that Dirk Koetter had taken to 2 straight bowl games and won 10 games in back to back seasons.

At SMU Jones inherited a team that had gone 1-11 the year before he got here so next time do a little research before foaming with diarrhea of the mouth!

What does that mean? Explain to me why JJ will win a BCS conference.

I can't predict the future.

Some facts:

1) June doesn't have a proven track record against BCS teams. The few BCS teams his teams have played have mostly beaten Junes teams.

2) SMU is on an upward trend of winning during June's tenure.

3) The big east teams are not as talented as Georgia or AtM.

4) Recruiting has improved under June's tenure.

Based on the above, I can't logically conclude that June WONT win in the BCS. However, given past performance @ SMU and the positive improvements I've seen, I'm willing to let him try before moving on to someone new.

There are more factors at play here than just who the coach is. Coach A at school A has different circumstances than @ school B.

Lets wait until we see Junes results before we have this convo.

Also you didn't get the simpsons reference. Or my attempt to derail this awfully thought out thread.

I'm sorry did I hurt your feelings? You all know I'm right and only a few people seem to get that JJ's style or whatever he does will not work on the next level. After taking Hawaii to a BCS Bowl why didn't June get a coaching job at a BCS school? Maybe the BCS schools see something you all don't, his turn around style doesn't translate in the BCS world. Take off the SMU glasses and look at the big picture. He went from a turn-around situation to another turn-around situation.

Didnt hurt my feeling im used to your type kinda like a drunk ex girl friend beating a dead horse when your wrong

These guys that sign up ( and in 10 days no less) and rant on with no facts are getting really old. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument. No clue and it's just not worth even responding to them.

You can always leave and make the world a better place. Also I think its best you stop pretending that you have any logical facts and the fact you will never be anything more than a [deleted] on a message board. Just a fun fact for you.

No actually you can leave...I've been here and will be here for longer than you will.We have seen your type and see them leave all the time. Just get your sh%^ together before you post is all we ask and don't argue points that you have no idea what you are talking about, is all. And I would advise little man that you don't say attacking personal comments like you have above as you don't really personally know who is who on this board, now do you?

Before trying to use intimidation, realize who is the little man on here. Some people dont really care about researching and wasting time on that especially if they have a lack of time to do so (i.e. homework, work, family) so they ask questions, which I did. Than I was attach by little people like you for instance and then get bombarded with illogical statements. Also, who could possibly be on the board that could affect anything outside of this message board. Again intimidation is pretty irrelevant... and it is more amusing to see people use it. So therefore I laugh hahahaha you are pretty pathetic

FYI: You are clearly showing your manliness and intelligence when you say "You dont say attacking personal comments like you have above" Please do take some time and research and maybe you will realize that it didnt start with me but with you and your internet gang. Again its hard to imagine you went or have anything to do with SMU.

In the words of Eric Cartman
I'm just asking questions. Did Wendy Testaburger use school money to buy heroine to shove up her [deleted]? I'm just asking questions.

I like what Jones said earlier about his future plans and interest in staying at SMU "building the pragram to where it is sustainable" which to me means building it to where it doesn't matter as much who is the coach because the program support and backing is at a level where it will be successful year in and year out!
