Are you kidding? They've been on the field all game. Statistically Navy has decent offense, and our D is doing fine with NO help. Navy is NOT GOOD on defense. Pathetic offensive display.

Has the offense quit on McD? Jones?

can't stop the option and never have been able to

have to go back to the Schumann era defenses to the last time SMU defensed an option team well

Against usm, Tulsa, and navy, we've been completely unprepared on defense and offense. Coaches need to do a better job. This is the 3rd time in a row Navy breezes through our defense. Is it that hard to prepare for the triple option? Wasn't navy on a 6 game losing streak during this season?

As someone stated above, "we can't stop the option." Both offense and defense have not played too well.

Mitch had a thread midweek about how we're good enough to beat the crap teams, but only beat the really good teams occasionally (aka TCU this year). It was pretty spot on.
Dunno what to make of us sucking against Navy for the fourth straight year. Just so irritating.

Southern Miss has a better defense than us and they gave up 421 rushing and 143 passing to Navy.

This loss is on the offense. There was never any pressure on their offense to do anything out of their comfort zone.

I thought the D did pretty well, considering the circumstances. Made some stops.

The offense really sucked it up for the most part. Endzone turnovers this year are killer.

AMEN...hold a 3-6 Navy team to 24...you should blow them out...UNLESS you run an outdated offense that blows....like us....

That's all you can really ask a defense to do against an option team. The offense blew this one.
