Can't confirm but heard that both Jones & 'DS' Simmonds (ACL) are out...

Any other news on injuries?

Coach Bennett said yesterday he "thinks" Justin Rogers will be able to play at UTEP, but he thinks Desmond Jones won't. No word on how bad Jones is hurt yet, as far as I know. He also said Brad Kieschnick is fine, that he just had a "stinger" in his shoulder. His health is crucial, with Simmonds out, because those are the only two deep-snappers on the team (since Eidson left). I imagine Bryan Turner will practice deep-snapping this week, just in case .... or would there be someone else who could fill in if needed?

Both Jones and Simmonds have ACL tears. I overheard the staff arguing over putting Simmonds in a heavy brace if they can get the swelling down as a just in case move.

Absolutely.
But on the good side, Justin Rogers is starting to practice again. Hopefully he'll be ready Saturday.

Man, that's rough. And missing spring will allow some of the other DTs (i.e. Kendall Mouton, Dominic Pryor, and any new signees) more snaps to get acclimated to the defense.

Question: with two torn ligaments, how the hell did he walk off the field? I know he had help, but having torn an ACL myself, I can tell you that's excruciating. And he ripped the MCL, too? Ouch.

Re-hab hard, Desmond, keep the weight down and come back flying! We need you - good luck.

I heard Clay Glockzin tore his ACL this week. If that's true, it makes you wonder what's the deal- that's 3 this week, yet four all year long counting Muse.

Good Luck to all of them and speedy recoveries.
