Playing Service Academies

Post by ponywhupp9202 »

My wife, a casual football fan, said it best this morning. "It's almost as if June wants the service academies to win". I must say I mostly agree, and this will become a big issue if indeed Air Force and Navy are in the same conference with SMU.

June only scheduled a service academy 3 times in his 9 years at Hawaii (3-0)...

Walking out of the game, I heard lots of people saying things like "It sure feels like he threw that game to make sure he only had 7 wins. That way we'd be most likely to go to Hawaii Bowl"

That thought crossed my mind.

Don't get me wrong-I am grateful for our servicemen and women and the service academies-but the whole game production felt like a complete buttkiss for Navy-

Kick their damn asses during the game and show them absolutely NO respect before the game. And then AFTER we have beaten them.......THEN show respect to the good men in uniform. Until then.....F em! Sick of all the adulation of the men in uniform before the game.

Agree..nice touch by the band to play navys fight song among others at halftime. Maybe next time in annapolos navy will play peruna. Or next year at the cotton bowl Texas will play boomer sooner

I think I heard "Anchors Away" more than "Peruna" due to all the first downs...they didn't need help.

and annapolis is easily our worst road trip. horrible, rude, backwoods people that essentially accuse you of being unamerican if you are respectfully rooting for the other team.

i love david robinson. i love roger staubach. i love our troops and america. but i hate the navy football team. we have to quit playing them.

I'm glad to see that it's not me. why don't we treat them like we treat TCU? I didn't see anything about respecting them, and we won!

When will we learn to thank them ONCE (preferably at the END of the game) and let it go? All we are doing is providing incentive against our selves with the cheering.
