Kyle Padron

Is Padron truly hurt or ticked at June and trying to preserve another year of eligibility at another school? I know some of you know him-what's the skinny?

herniated (sp) discs in his back.

His running ability would really help in these windy games where teams like navy are dropping a million dbs back.

Agree that having a mobile QB would have been very helpful on Saturday. McDermott is doing a decent job overall, but he is limited as an athlete. As the season wears on, his limitations are becoming more and more apparent. I'm not saying that the slide is all his fault. . .far from it. But QB is a position where we definitely need an upgrade for this program to take the next step. Padron has the tools. Hopefully he can become that guy next year.

Consistent O-line play would certainly help as well.

White Helmet...

I have heard that as well...I hope it is true. A lot of people don't think June has developed him well enough....I have said this before in another thread, I disagree with most on LP's development, which is even more of a reason why I do not understand Jones pulling him for the year...

KP's stats are always being compared to Brennan's and Chang's....Unfair, because the stats being compared are the latter's Senior year stats....vs the former (KP) Sophomore year stats. I hope this kid sticks around and shines in his senior year. 31 Td's last year, nearly 4000 yards compared to JJMcD this year, !4 TD's, not even 3000 yards yet I dont think...I definitely think June screwed up, and hopefully it doesn't hurt us for next year.

I hope he stays, otherwise it will be rs-fr CP, with Kaiser as a back up. KP could have two more years, if he is granted a med-rs for this season. We need the depth and he has shown himself to be a far better leader than McD.

Here is what is interesting about the Padron situation. If he transfers or does not come back or if he does and is not good enough for JJ to start him (we already know that JJ does not believe he is a starter) SMU will be playing QBs that have never started a game in college, unless they bring in a juco QB. This in an offense that is so QB dependent and so complicated that it is beyond an average players ability to understand it.
