Houston has played NOBODY

Post by Pony ^ »

Houston has played virtually NOBODY. I know they have basically throttled us the past few years and put up 1000 points a game, but saying we shouldn't even show up is ridiculous. Look at their schedule:

-UCLA: (38-34) Houston won by 4 pts at home. UCLA will be lucky to go bowling. They lost to Texas at home by 29, got MURDERED by a 2-8 Arizona team, and just got throttled by Utah.
-North Texas:(48-23) gave up 23 pts. It's North Texas...
-@LA Tech: (35-34) Had to have a comeback of a lifetime to win by 1 pt. Although, LA tech should be bowling..
-Georgia St: (56-0) Never heard of it.
-@UTEP: (49-42) Won by 7 pts. I watched this game, there was zero defense. If UTEP put 42 on the Cougar high D, I don't see why we can't either.
-East Carolina:(56-3) ECU is horrible. Expected blowout.
-Marshall- (63-28) Marshall is horrible. Expected blowout.
-Rice: (73-34) Keenum throws 9tds. Amazing. But it is still Rice. Houston gave up 34 pts.
-@UAB: (56-13) Expected blowout. UAB has won two games. But hey, they just beat Memphis by a TD.
@Tulane: (73-17)Tulane sucks. Expected blowout again.

Bowl bound teams that Houston has played so far: LA Tech (6 wins). No other team they have played has 6 wins or more. Add SMU and Tulsa and they have 3.

My point is that Cougar high has played nobody. I'm not saying we will win, but I am saying it is quite possible. We shouldn't count this game as an automatic L. Let the players play it out on the field. Anything can happen, look what we did at TCU. If our offense is hitting on all cylinders and our D can get a turnover or two, it may just go our way.

We beat Houston, Houston beats Tulsa, we play against USM in championship game, beat them, and win the Liberty Bowl!

SMU 2011 CUSA Champs!!

Sounds pretty simple to me.

I want Houston to lose all of their games all the time.

They havent played a real defense.

They get two in a row. God willing they go 0-2 and end the season unranked.

Except that we are already mathematically out of the conference championship game....unless there is a huge recruiting scandal at Tulsa before Thanksgiving.

Didn't realize they were undefeated in conference play. Tulsa - UH should be a good game, although I think UH still wins. USM, however, I think will be the team to beat them (they have the speed on defense).

Does Houston actually have a defense?

Texas Christian is better than Houston, I think you guys beat them (TCU) who beat Boise saved everybody any garbage about Boise being in the national title game when OU beats OSU in the Bedlam game. Well, I guess we'll just have to deal with the rest of the garbage because Alabama and LSU have flaws outside of their defenses although 'Bama is worse very good for sure but not unbeatable they have an okay "O" terrible and Kicking game. IE Alabama LSU rematch unless Georgia or Arkansas, nah well yeah beat LSU (have I ever mentioned that I wish there was a playoff?).. This is about to get really, really confusing here guys.

Handling adversity is the test of how good teams are measured. It's exam time Ponies.

Yes, Tulsa has 2 game lead with tie-breaker.

But we can still be co-champs of our division, right? Just that Tulsa advances to championship game no matter what.

Agree completely with this post. They have not even come close to playing a ranked team. They chose UNT & La Tech as non-conf games. We played an 8th ranked A&M, 20th ranked TCU and now an 11th ranked UH. They are about to have their toughest two games (assuming we come to win). They have a great offense and a crappy defense. Had they played some worthy opponents, they would best be 8-2 and probably 7-3.

Time for our coaching staff and senior leaders to Pony Up and motivate our Mustangs!

If they couldn't Pony Up and motivate, at home, against a team that was smaller, with 3 wins, why would you possibly think we could go on the road, play a top 15 team, with the nation's best passing QB, and do anything but get smoked? Talked to former fb player with 2 All SWC honors last Saturday that said "stick a fork in us, we are done for the year. You can tell their heart isn't into it."
