Mason visited with PonyFans.com to discuss record-setting UH quarterback Case Keenum, running back Charles Sims and how he is preparing his defense for the game.

He mentioned mixing up defensive looks, that's probably our best bet at defending Houston. Our rush isn't good enough to be sending extra guys every play, because that'll leave average DBs on track stars. Can't drop 8 back on every play either because Keenum will find holes or they'll just use one of those track star RBs to gash us.

I enjoy the we have played Houston several times, its just a little bit better.... what about navy? we have played them several times same offense and they arent as good this year.... this is going to be a great saturday.

anybody know whether Michael Hayes-the real starting UH RB is expected to play this week? It really doesn't matter much because Sims, Hayes vand Beall are all great

His absence in the Tulane game wasn't injury or discipline-related, no indications he'll be out against SMU.

strange it says they just decided to rest their starter-probably was dealing with some type of lingering injury though-otherwise he can rest in the offseason when you are going for BCS Bowl.
