These new "rumored" changes to the BCS system are [deleted] me off. I feel like this is the "polically correct" way for the BCS to kill of the Big East from going to a BCS bowl. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the Big East bowl tie-ins, but we are the only conference who doesn't have a True tie-in to a BCS bowl. Instead, it is rotated among the different bowls. Therefore, this essentially makes us a non-aq league.
If this happens, we need to try our best to find more "nationally relevant" bowls. Here are our bowl tie ins below:
- (Pinstripe Bowl) Big East #4 vs Big 12 #7
- (Beef O'Brady Bowl) Big East #6 vs CUSA #5
- (Belk Bowl) Big East #3 vs ACC #5
- (Compass Bowl) Big East #5 vs SEC #9
- (Champs Sports) Big East #2 (or Notre Dame) vs ACC #3
The thing I have always hated is that for most of the Big East's bowl games, we are playing a below average team from a different conference. Therefore, we have nothing to gain. If we win, the critics say we should have won since we are facing a bad team from another conference. If we lose, critics point to just how awful the Big East is in football.
I'm hoping that with the addition of Boise, BYU, Houston and you guys that maybe we can get contracts with bowls where we would face more big time opponnets and attain a better national reputation.
Any thoughts?

Well, we do have Coach Jones so Sheraton Hawaii Bowl is always an option...just kidding.
Big East will be landing some big markets (hey, new idea for name of the new conference - The BMC - Big Markets Conference!)...D/FW, Houston, Orlando, SLC, DC/Md, NY. Some of the bowls located in and around those cities may want a tie-in.
