The last two years SMU started 4-2 in 2010 and 5-1 in 2011 and in 2010 they finished 3-5 and so far they are 1-4 in the second half of the 2011 season and could end up at 1-6 for the last part of the season (maybe its going to be 3-4 or 2-5, which are BOTH losing records). Its apparent that the coaching needs to adjust as the other teams sure have adjusted to SMU's play calling late in the season every year. Scoring the same amount of points as a dead man (0) in the first half of games just won't cut it as it was last year late in the season as well as this year late.
We invest in this team with our time and money and have a right to be concerned about the 'background noise' we are hearing from the players, parents, coaches of this team.

If we get a bowl invite, I bet we see Jones' name in the hat for another job (ala Maryland last year). I wouldn't be surprised if this staff is going somewhere else.

We're definitely getting a bowl invite and of course June will always be on the prowl for his next reclamation project. This isn't Hawaii and I don't expect him to be here 9 years.

Lets say the ponies beat Rice which is a big if.

7-5 and AFB vs BYU

so 7-6 after getting embarrassed at home by BYU or 6-7

Either way thats nothing to be that proud of. The Hawaii bowl was cool bc no one expected it and Padron looked like a stud. Now the team is lost. No one thought Padron wouldnt be leading the team this year.

Next year the Ponies at least get Houston, Southern Miss and Tulsa at home and have easy road games at Tulane, Rice and El Paso. I think they go to Orlando. Hard to predict that being much better than 3-3 in conference.
