Who has Sumlin recruited?
Re: How much they payin' Sumlin?
I believe Houston has had the best recruiting class in the CUSA for 3 of the past 4 years or at lease top 2 or 3.

There are 4 guys on NFL rosters who might disagree with that. Plus I'd take Justin Willis over JJ right now. I realize we weren't stacked with 5 star recruits, but I'm tired of hearing that there was 0 talent when Jones arrived.
Re: How much they payin' Sumlin?
There was some talent - Jones himself said that they had the talent to win about 5 games his first year here. It was the mindset he had to change.
Houston has absolutely recruited well. But they were picked to finish in the middle of the conference until Case got his sixth year, and having highly ranked recruits by CUSA standards waiting on the sideline is not the same thing as having a proven NCAA record holder you inherited.
Like I said, we'll find out next year how good he is.

Good point...however, Jones brought in Sterling. Morestead, Sanders, and McCann were here. Unless, Al Rob is back on a team, I think we've named the NFL players.

I was counting Robinson on the Redskins PS, but not Sterling... so call it 3.5

Re: How much they payin' Sumlin?
Sumlin's strength is recruiting the Gulf Coast area before everyone finds out how good they are. If you notice a bunch of those early commits end up getting a bunch more offers later. He's lost a lot of decommitments once the BCS schools come in later during recruiting season. One year he lost 6 top prospects. He recruits about 95% Texans and throws in some JUCOs, transfers and a couple of Louisiana kids. I don't even think we have a recruiter in DFW that knows where most of the Top high schools are.

I am talking about talent from top to bottom including depth, not just a handful of players.. We looked like a high school team line up against a college team when he got here. At least now we look like a college football team. Many have said that same thing.

Good stuff and love the quote "We're a member of Conference USA right now. We're honored to be in Conference USA. But we're also always going to look to better ourselves. We truly believe you don't wait for opportunity; you make opportunity." Well said!
I look forward to hating Houston more in the future as BE mates!

He's gotta bail now while his stock is high. Can't bet on this BE thing working out when there are jobs in stable conferences that will be open.

he'll probably bail, but UH is still doing good things and will stay competitive.

I like how you guys think the reconfigured Big East which has NO CHANCE of getting a BCS bid is on par with an SEC school.
Sumlin is gone. He walked into a perfect situation with Arts recruits...Cleveland, Case, Carrier ect.

Trey was using the powers of Gamehendge to allow the show to continue, to give the band the strength it needed to help break through this barrier
