National championship for SMU?

I know it's the football board, but this is where the most traffic is (and I'm going to put it up on the other boards, too).

Folks, the men's soccer team is ranked #2 in THE COUNTRY. And the Ponies have an NCAA playoff game Tuesday night at 7 PM against Cal. We NEED to get every available PonyFan out there to cheer on the Ponies - this is a GREAT team that deserves our support.

As I wrote on the Other Sports board, one interesting subplot is the fact that Cal is coached by Kevin Grimes, who was an All-America defender at SMU and an assistant coach under our own Coach Hyndman. (Speaking of which, check out the DMN story about Coach Hyndman that's linked up on the home page - he's a pretty remarkable guy.)

Come on, PonyFans - get out to Westcott Field Tuesday night and support the Ponies!

We are more overdue to win it all in Soccer then in any sport. I am taking my son out there this evening to see one of the best soccer teams in the country. Come on Stangs - lets give these guys a home field advantage.
